How One Wellness Brand Is Helping America Sleep Better
You know the importance of sleep, but actually getting enough is easier said than done. One wellness brand decided to study the problem and whether CBD could help.
CBD users have long reported feeling calmer and sleeping better, whether taking the compound by itself or with related hemp-derived compounds like CBN and THC. But rumor isn’t research, so CBDistillery conducted two sleep studies: a 2021 study into CBD and CBN, and a 2023 study with technology app Releaf into CBD, CBN and THC.
Study participants who took CBD and CBN reported falling asleep easier and sleeping an hour longer per night, on average. Study participants who took THC as well as CBD and CBN reported improved quality of sleep and waking up more refreshed the next morning.

We’ve all heard the same lines for years.
“AI will do the heavy lifting.”
“Chat with an LLM for better answers.”
“Use it to boost productivity.”
“Never write from scratch again.”
But here’s the part nobody explains properly:
LLMs are incredibly powerful tools, yet the more we rely on them, the more we risk losing something important , the slow, messy, deeply personal process of thinking, struggling, and arriving at our own conclusions. They make life easier, but they can also make our minds lazier if we’re not careful.
Why Relying on LLMs Feels Both Exciting and Heavy
You need to write an important email or report. Instead of staring at a blank screen for ten minutes, you ask an LLM and get a polished draft in seconds. It feels magical.
But later you realize the words don’t fully sound like you. The tone is perfect, yet something human is missing.
You ask it for ideas on a personal project and get ten great suggestions instantly. Suddenly your own brainstorming feels slow and unnecessary.
That quiet shift builds over time. You start depending on the model for quick answers instead of wrestling with ideas yourself. The excitement of instant help slowly turns into a strange emptiness, like you’re outsourcing parts of your thinking.
The Scale Nobody Wants to Say Out Loud
LLMs have gone from experimental tools to everyday companions for millions of people in just a few years. Billions of queries are processed daily, and new models keep arriving faster than we can keep up.
Yet many users quietly admit they feel less creative, less confident in their own writing, and sometimes even less patient with slow, thoughtful work. The convenience is real but so is the subtle cost to how we think and create.
Blind Dependence vs Thoughtful Use
Blind dependence says:
“Let the LLM handle most of the thinking and writing , it’s faster and better.”
Thoughtful use says:
“Use LLMs as a helpful partner, but protect the parts of thinking and creating that only you can do. The struggle is where real growth happens.”
This shift changed everything for me.
What I Actually Do Now
I’m not against LLMs (I use them almost every day).
But here’s what thoughtful use looks like in my real daily life:
I use them for first drafts or research summaries, but I always rewrite the final version in my own words and voice.
Before asking for ideas, I force myself to brainstorm alone for at least 5–10 minutes so my own thoughts come first.
I never copy-paste important personal messages or creative work without heavy editing , it has to feel like me.
I turn off the “instant answer” habit for small things (like quick explanations) and try to recall or reason myself first.
I keep a simple rule: if the task is something that helps me grow or express myself, I do at least half of it without any AI help.
The biggest change? My mind feels sharper and more confident again. The LLM is a tool, not a replacement for my own thinking.
Let’s Be Real
LLMs are amazing and here to stay. They can save time, spark ideas, and remove boring drudgery.
But they won’t replace the uniquely human joy of struggling with an idea until it finally clicks or writing something that truly feels like you.
You can use powerful AI tools every day and still keep your voice, creativity, and thinking sharp.
You need both.
What To Do Instead
Always start with your own thoughts before asking an LLM even 5 minutes of solo brainstorming makes a big difference.
Use LLMs for drafts or research, but rewrite and personalize everything important in your own words.
Set small rules like “no AI for personal emails or creative work” to protect your unique voice.
Turn off instant answers for simple questions sometimes and try to reason or recall first.
Regularly do one fully human task (handwriting, deep reading, or long thinking without tools) to keep your mind strong.
Treat LLMs like a very smart assistant helpful, but never the boss of your ideas.
LLMs are changing the world in wonderful ways.
The question is whether we let them change how we think or whether we stay in control.
